α-LOCK® Clamp Connector
The Clamp Connector is a fully proven alternative to the conventional flanged connection used throughout the oil & gas, petrochemical and power generation industries. Produced in a comprehensive range of sizes and materials they offer versatility, compactness, weight and cost effectiveness in connecting piping systems. The Connector is designed to meet ANSI B 16.5 and ASME VIII Div2 also complying with other recognized international design Codes.
α-LOCK® joint description
The α-LOCK® is designed to offer the greatest reliability of the joint under the most severe and critical operating conditions in its environment. The flexibility of the seal ring allows storage of elastic energy in the lip seals during the bolting-up of the assembly. This makes the joint fit to be adopted in piping systems which require high integrity of the seals in corrosive or erosive conditions, and when the connection shall withstand the most severe pressure/temperature cyclic conditions.
The basic α-LOCK® connector is below represented and consists of:
- two hubs
- clamp set
- one self-energised seal ring
- four bolts
- eight spherical nuts
